Xy5 through AI

Seems to me that the easiest path forward is to get AI to finish up the preparation of Xy5 from Nota Bene, which Steve Siebert is obviously not going to do.
The best way would be to get the source code for what he has done,
but is that possible? Maybe buy it--it's not the source for NB but
for his re-jiggered NB core editor.

I'd like feedback about the feasibility of:

or
Paul Breeze, and (I think) Carl.
FYI, here are the features we were told we could (probably? definitely?) get from NB-Xy:

1. Making fully functional, the existing U2 help file/plug-in system

2. Ensuring XPL that is at least 98% compatible with the XPL used
in XyWrite IV. We can accept a couple of known and documented
differences, if they are the kind that can be dealt with by a simple
global search and replace in the existing code--e.g., changing all DOS/nv/x/z
commands to some other syntax that acccomplishes the same thing.

3. Program-access to all the standard Windows features: Windows screen
fonts, Windows printer drivers, Windows clipboard, Windows color
palette, the standard undo.

4. Much higher memory limit for programs, their data, etc., keyboard
files, and the other things that in XyWrite 4 are crammed in to 64k.

5. More robust wildcard search and replace

6. Portability--XyWrite 5 must be able to be run from a USB flash
drive, without requiring installation on the computer to which the
flash drive is attached.

7. Ability to load and work on text files of at 10 megabytes in length.

8. Making the internal code lean and fast
