I have the following:

Xy3+ 3.55, editor.exe file size = 180,690
Xy3+ 3.55B, editor.exe file size = 185,138
including copies of original installation discettes, and all original 
user documentation.
I use the 3.55B version, almost daily, for bulk text input. I do not 
print at all from XyWrite, and do very little formatting in Xywrite; for 
printing and formatting, I use Adobe PageMaker v6.52, which has a Xy3+ 
import filter. Later versions of Pagemaker and InDesign dropped XyWrite 
filter support. The lack of import filters for Xy4 keeps me at Xy3+. I 
have not seen or used NoteBene, and see no reason to, so long as 
Pagemaker keeps running.
I run my 3.55B Xy3+ in a Windows XP native environment, which I detest 
and use for almost nothing else except to support XyWrite and PageMaker. 
Otherwise, I have Macs, which I use for everything else. I got XyWrite 
to run on the Mac in a Cross-Over vDOSxy emulation environment--this is 
my backup XyWrite, for the day when Windows crashes and burns.
