Harry's instructions were for Xy4, so they don't apply.

OK, then install one of those Xy3 PRNs for LJ3 -- unless... what fonts did you
use with your old setup (your old computer)? Do you own some soft fonts, or
what? Was your old printer a LaserJet too? If so, copy over your old PRN file
and fonts... I leave this part to you.

Go to XP's Control Panel ==> Printers and Faxes ==> right click on your printer
==> Sharing... ==> click Share this printer, and enter a Share name, such as
"HPLJ5" (all in CAPS).

Open a DOS Prompt. Command:
 ipconfig /all
See what your own "Host Name" is. That's your own computername. Let's suppose
it is "Liz" (apologies!). For compatibility across many systems, this name
ought not to be more than 8 characters. But... whatever it is, let's use it.

Finally, at the same DOS Prompt, command:

 net use LPT1: \\LIZ\HPLJ5 /persistent:yes

That should return a "Command executed successfully". If it doesn't, stop
right there and report back. Otherwise, try to print normally. Note that LIZ
is in CAPS. Careful about the slash directions blah blah blah...

Now, if this works (and it should, once you get everything straightened out),
you want to make this arrangement permanent by running a startup script each
time you fire up your computer. There are several ways to do that... Later...
