Re: Stopping USB drives from XY4 - Script

Dear Robert

I have been testing out your script again, both from XY4 command line and from DOS and I now get
completely different behaviour to that which I reported before. In my normal setup I use the
Litestep alternative shell as my desktop rather than Explorer and with this the script, run from the
XY4 command line, now appears to step slowly through the first level of my Litestep desktop menu in
and endless loop. I then switched back to the normal explorer desktop and tried again. In this
case the script called up the "Unplug or Eject Hardware" box but it didn't seem to
progress any further than that. Maybe if I had waited longer it would have progressed further, but
I waited a minute or so, which seemed long enough. I'm afraid I cannot explain why I no longer get
the error message I originally found, but I have been having some problems with gettting my machine
to awake from sleep mode reliably and in trying to troubleshoot that I may have made changes that
affect how the scri!
 pt works.

On a completely different subject, you recommend using several partitions when setting up a new
system. Can you explain why you find that better? I used to use two or three but I switched to a
single partition when I set up a disc mirror and it seems to work fine.
