WordPad is actually a pretty friendly little text processor. It allows TrueType fonts and has some other formatting niceties not available in Notepad (including a much larger file size capacity). Cetus Wordpad, a freebie, looks just like WordPad but includes a spell checker.
As for the others: If you want to use Clip.pgm, be sure you have a filter that will create a file
that the other text processor can read. RTF is pretty universal, but not totally.
