Carl,
I have a dim and unhelpful memory that someone once posted a
utility that, inter alia, did that kind of switching. Also the
new screen blanker (version 4.6) implements hot keys which would
achieve the same effect. I don't have much use for screen
blankers but this one has other features (like the hotkeys and
some clever screen grabbing) that makes it worth considering.
