You're singing my song (metaphorically speaking) in regard to "comprise."
And how about the frequent use of "is comprised of"--a contradiction in terms.
Witness the use of comprise to mean constitute--something that puts me in a fury, because I immediately hear compris (Fr.) and compehensus (Lat.) echoing.
