Thanks to those who have shared with me their experience of being unable
to find their serial nos. in Xy4 and/or advice on solving the problem.

I found my old 5-inch floppies for Xy3+, which did have the serial no.
printed on disc 1, and I've ordered NBWin on the strength of that old
serial no. If NB gives me trouble I'll squawk.
