Dunno why this never occurred to me before: Since conditionals
are unnecessary, the slickest (if not most memory-friendly) way
to do a xyWrite 3+ linefeed/carriage return-to-newline conversion,
or to convert newlines to linefeeds for un*x, is with kbd macros--
no xpl or reference to Help involved.

One .kb3 sequence each direction is in this encoded, zipped file.
If you just want a .kb3 sequence that will put a searchable linefeed
or carriage return on a key, you can extrapolate how to do it from
these sequences, which are indebted to pioneering work Robert Holmgren
