I didn't really use S/G 5--but (blush) I used 568 and changed it to 5 (when

embarrassment in front of you and Robert. Let's not go into why it was 568
in the first place. Mea culpa.

But you didn't find FINDDIFF. For my money (and, of course, I'm
biased), it's the best file comparison tool around.
Son of a gun! It certainly does exactly what I wanted. It never pays to
underestimate U2 (and you too).
