More on stuff after the semicolon in a style: You can't have a carriage
return there.

More on styles: As set up in the menus, and as most people use them, Xy
styles are pretty crude (no NB, for instance, and no notion of inheritance
from style to style). I've developed for the DOS product some styles that do
use inheritance (you have one master style and several children that inherit
the master's features -- so, for instance, you can change the typeface in the
master style and the children all get the same change). I've attached the
most elaborate of them for anyone who's interested to play with. In the
enhanced menus posted to this list, I have some extra code around styles
that, for instance, puts an existing style at the end of a highlighted block
and has some other whistles and bells.

I may have mentioned this before, but the Import stuff in the menus could be
used in an interesting way. Set up a styles template; start a new doc and
import the style template, preserving the link. If you ever change the
template, you can then re-import it using the link update facility. This
should work somewhat like the style library stuff in XyWin (which I struggled
mightily with and don't think I ever got perfect).

Importing (DOS) and style libraries (WIN) *should* work as advertised,
but.... Please consider this stuff at least somewhat experimental; I haven't
worked with it in ages and can't be of very much help as an auxiliary tech
support person! (In fact, I no longer have XyWin on my machines.)
