Re: File-comparison funcs FD and FM



FD and FM (Ctrl - and Ctrl = on the keyboard) have a settable option for how
much difference the program will tolerate before declaring that the 2 files
being compared are too out of synch. I believe it's in the manual and may
even be settable from the menus; haven't used it in ages. Doug Kramer, the
head menus genius, did write a nifty file compare program (tho somewhat
under-documented and a bit quirky). If it isn't part of the Xy4DOS standard
release, I'd be happy to post it if Kenny voices no objection by the middle
of next week. It's kinda nifty -- puts the two files in adjacent windows and
highlights the different part. You can then replace text in one doc using
the other as the source. We used the program extensively to reconcile
development versions of the menus with the master copy.

If I learn more about settings, I'll post it here. My manuals are still out
on loan.
