File size limitation

Friends -
There's a known limitation in XY4 in which, if you have more than
about 4 meg of files open, you can get the message "out of disk
space writing to overflow file...."

Does anyone know of a fix or workaround for this, short of
splitting file(s) up? Sometimes I need to do a file compare of 2
3-meg files, and XY4 crumps on me!
