Re: SA/RTF Font

Back in January, Carl wrote this incredibly useful macro to give me a one-click conversion from XyWrite files to .rtf in Times Roman.

 XPLeNCODE v2.0 b-gin [UNTITLED] nn=TFBXu,f, ,t,i,m,e,s,Q2BXs,a,Q2BCs,a,/,n,e, ,JM2,.,P,r,s,K, b,d,A,R,g,Q2x,m, ,[,S,X,0,1,CO[,V,A,$,F,P,],],[,I,F,[,I,S,0,1 ,],{240},",.,",],[,S,X,0,1,CO[,V,A,@,0,1,.,1,],],[,E,I,],CO,G ,H,[,P,V,0,1,],.,R,T,F,NOJM2,.,s,a,/,r,t,f,Q2ASXPTFBXs,e,/,f, , ,U,F,t,i,m,e,s,Q2CLYDDFBXs,e, , ,s,Q2CRDFDNTGBXs,a,Q2ASXC[ cr|lf][cr|lf] -nd XPLeNCODE

All had been going swimmingly until a few days ago, when suddenly the .rtf files converted from XyWrite and attached to (Eudora) email were being automatically  decoded  at the other end as email text (decoding MIME attachments? I can't stop thinking of Marcel Marceau). The gibberish baffled  editors who had never seen .rtf formatting unveiled.

I went back to my old method: opening the XyWritten text in Wordpad and saving as .rtf. That ! still appears in Eudora as an attachment.  I compared the two files and found that they are different.

Here's a XY file converted to .rtf with the macro.

{\rtf1\ansi \deff0 {\fonttbl {\f0\froman times;}
}
{\colortbl;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green0\blue127;\red0\green127\blue0;\red0\green127\blue127;\red127\green0\blue0;\red127\green0\blue127;\red127\green127\blue0;\red127\green127\blue127;\red192\green192\blue192;\red0\green0\blue255;\red0\green255\blue0;\red0\green255\blue255;\red255\green0\blue0;\red255\green0\blue255;\red255\green255\blue0;\red255\green255\blue255;}\linex0 \sbknone
\margl1440 \margr1440 \margt1440 \margb1440 \plain \margb1440 \margt1440 \fs24 \f0 \pard \sl280 The rich text gets richer. }

And here's the same text converted with Wordpad.

{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Courier New;}}
{\colortbl ;\red0\green0\blue0;}
{\*\generator Msftedit 5.41.15.1503;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\cf1\lang1033\f0\fs24 The rich text gets richer.\cf0\f1\fs20  \par}

Are any of these differences relevant? Have I somehow damaged the filter that the macro was using? Is there a way to make XyWrite call the same filter that Wordpad is using?

I got spoiled with the one-key conversion, and hope to return to it. Any help or pointers toward a solution are appreciated.
