Actually, if we're talking about Xy3+, you don't need those "/nv/x/z"
switches (which are Xy4-specific). Just issue:

  BC dos /c copy /a+bogus /bXC 

(Make sure that there's no file actually named "bogus" in your current
directory or the DOS path! The core idea here is that a nonexistent file
is concatenated with the source file.) Works great.
