On the subject of interesting things you can do with auto-expand:

1. you can abbreviate formatting instructions - e.g. - hi1=
  to set up levels of hanging indents

2. you can use ascii-13 to produce multiple line expansions.
  e.g. nkd= North Kendall Drive, Suite
       Miami, Florida 331

- simple scheme for abbreviating months; m1=January m12=December
