Just wondering...
Would it work simply to do a DF DF CP sequence rather than to try to GT an
empty s/g into the text? I tried it a couple times, and it seemed to work,
but since the bug is intermittent, I couldn't be sure. Didn't have time to
pursue it exhaustively, but I'll give it a try today.

Re folklore and anecdotes: Someone watching me type a password to get on-line
asked me how I knew which keys to press to get the row of asterisks.
