I cannot imagine what is going on, but I cannot reproduce your problem. I tried on both the W2K and the XP boxes at the office (using a portable Xy setup on my flash drive on the XP box). I've tried it with TAME and without. I checked every file in the XY
skein of directories for a misapplied setting -- such as df la=437.
I've called up XY plain vanilla from a DOS prompt, did CM default
la=850, got the confirm and still get 437 from VA/NV LA. I've even
searched the entire HD for the text string la= and all I get is df
la=850 in my settings.dfl. I'm going to run through all this one more

Finally, for the uninitiated, do we have to load CP 850 at DOS before
we can use it or is it part of the normal DOS set-up (under whatever
iteration of WIN)?
