You're losing me. I thought you were talking about .TMP files being deleted "when quitting the
programme". As far as I know, XyWrite does not delete any .TMP files when the QUIT command is
issued. All that happens is that any active swap file (.TMP file with arbitrary 8-char filename) is
unlocked and thus becomes available for deletion. But it is not actually deleted.

I don't understand what any of this has to do with Robert's DEL command in STARTUP.INT. That
command, obviously, does not delete anything "when quitting the programme"; it executes
when XyWrite is next restarted. Any .TMP files that exist immediately before you quit will continue
to exist thereafter, unless and until they are deleted. There is no magic at work here.
