I use the 1988 version of Xy III plus I think 5.6 which is the pc version
of the atex and always uses ;*; to disable command.
 for example here are the two lines in the file relating to cursor

;*; BC default it=519,1543,8193,264,1792,8193,1543,1;*;
BC default cr=118;*; cursor is big

The first one disabled the line suggested by robert, second one is the
cursor size line I use.
