There are freeware Ascii table utilities around . . .
if your version of Win does not include one, tucked
away in some obscure corner (Accessibility Options ?).
 I don't have a great memory for such things, so I
need to consult one from time to time. Actually, I
think the "sliding bar" one in Xy3 wasn't bad,
although it was discontinuous and divided into
sections. That was on the list of built-in or
interface type items I regretted not being carried
over into Xy4, out of the box. (The CTRL-M Memory
Manager box was another.)

Since it has everything else most of us could think
of, I would expect there must be an Ascii table with
character display in U2. (I'm on a guest laptop at
the moment, and so cannot check this.) Years ago, I
actually made my own file, ASCII.REF, which includes a
fair amount of descriptive annotation. Since it was
intended to be called up in Xy, this is the one I
still reach for first, at least for anything related
to writing.
