off topic. jury-rig definitions

I am catching up with two weeks of digests. In re: jury-rig, Webster 11th (Merriam Webster) handles it thus:

>Main Entry:2 juryFunction:adjective Etymology:Middle English jory (in jory saile improvised sail) Date:15th century : improvised for temporary use especially in an emergency  : MAKESHIFT  *a jury mast*  *a jury rig*<

which I find persuasive.
