Having a cute little line running across the screen is extremely
popular. Perhaps WP 5.1 was among the first to feel that a people
were unable to interpret that a changing page number meant a new
page. Anyway, Xywin indulges, as does WP 6.1 and MS WinWord. The
most that can be said is that at least Xywin hasn't thrown in the
soft page break as a substitute for an
ENTER. MS Word has, in favor of others, let the line spacing stay
consistent in spite of its own page demarcation.
