The window size looks almost full-screen and the font readable.

The path issue should be solvable. The dir command evidently opens a
folder named documents/xpmuser/desktop/ .... so it must be possible to
place other folders within that folder which XY can access.

What is your default path in startup.int? If it points to a
non-existent path, that might explain why XY is not 'seeing' any c:/
drive. Are there any fleeting error messages while startup.int is
loading (such as "path not found")?
