Re: Xy Win/macros, etc.

More on styles:
The way Dave Erickson conceived of them, Styles could be fully specified, not
specified at all (SS with no arguments except label), or partially specified.
The partially specified ones have a special quality: they modify the
preceding style in the style list, maintaining anything not changed.

The dialogs in Xy4DOS have some powerful style creation options, and XyWin (I
think) supports style libraries. (I worked on the code for them, but I'm
pretty sure I did a not-so-good job).

Attached is a "Master" template with many styles with bunches of headings and
text treatments in it. Notice that the naming conventions for the labels keep
things in order when brought into the styles dialog. In fact, there are so
many styles that they're best handled thru the menus/dialogs (sorry CMD line
purists).

It's an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink template, done mostly as a demo for
"inherited" styles. Note the use of the invisible command (with carriage
return) so that the styles stack up in expanded view. (That way, the
inheritance features stand out).

I have a couple of other simpler templates if anybody's interested.

Cheers,
Tim Baehr

P.S. One way to make Xy files portable between Xy users is to define a
default style at the top of the doc.
