Poqet, Win CE handhelds and XYwrite

The current (July?) issue of the U.S. version
of Computer Shopper (Ziff-Davis tabloid newsprint
pile of mail-order adverts (and is it thinner than
it used to be?)) has a column by John D. Dvorak
on an early handheld computer called the (Atari)
Poqet that used Flas ram to held Dos programs.
He claims that there are still some available.
Wasn't this was one of things that Xywrite had
a Xy-on-a-chip for, like the NEC Ultra laptop?

On a related issue, I've seen in the British magazine
PcPlus mention of a Dos emulator for the Win CE family
	of handhelds.
Has anyone any experience with XyDos in a Win Ce
	handheld using this emulator?

"Introduction to the Microsoft H/PC :
"
"The Handheld Personal Computer (H/PC) is a new category of mobile
" devices built around the Windows CE operating system to bring Windows
" to the palm of your hand. More than a personal digital assistant, the
" H/PC is a full featured computer with a miniature footprint. Formerly
" know by the code name "Pegasus", Windows CE is an entirely new compact
"and portable operating system built from the ground up to be
" appropriate for a broad range of business and consumer devices.
"
" The architecture of the H/PC is not rigidly defined, and an H/PC
" manufacturer can alter any of the hardware parameters as long as they
" provide appropriate Windows CE drivers for the modified hardware. In
" addition, the CPU can be one of several types and does not have to be
"Intel x86 compatible. In fact, current H/PC's only use Hitachi SH,
"MIPS and StrongARM RISC processors.
"
" Microsoft has designed the Windows CE operating system so that
"existing applications for Windows 95, 98 and NT can be relatively
" easily modified and re-built for the H/PC. However, a large amount of
" PC-compatible applications are not designed for Windows 95, 98 or NT
" and are unlikely to be rewritten for the Windows CE operating system.
" less well known emulators, mainly written for smaller user-base
" computers to try to extend the amount of software available for them
" (eg. Acorn Archimedes and Commodore Amiga).
"
" Introduction to the XT-CE PC emulator :
"
" The XT-CE PC/XT emulator for Windows CE emulates a PC with an 80186
" processor, 1Mb of RAM, a CGA-compatible display and the standard
" support chips. This allows most applications designed for
" PC-compatible computers running MS-DOS to run on the H/PC device. As
" XT-CE does not emulate DOS (or any other operating system), one needs
" to be provided (much like a real PC). In conjunction with running a
"'real' DOS, XT-CE is able to provide the same level of application
" compatibility as the original IBM PC/XT, while still allowing the H/PC
" user access to all of the features and applications of the Windows CE
"operating system.
