XyWrite to Go?

To Ken Frank:

Is TTG giving any thought to developing a version of XyWrite
written in the Java programming language (Sun Microsystems'
interpreted language for delivering applications over the
Internet)? A compact, downloadable Xy -- with a feature set
comparable in size to, say, that of III+, but with features
chosen judiciously from Xy's latest incarnations -- could breathe
new life and fresh ideas into the product, with potentially
handsome profits from distribution that would be instantaneous
and worldwide. What's more, since many doubt that dumb Internet
terminals are about to replace the PC any time soon (or ever),
JavaXy could open new markets for PC-based Xy. The idea seems
well worth considering. If a word-processing lingua franca is
going to develop for the Net, it may as well be Xy. In fact,
what WP is better-suited than Xy to fill that need? But better
hurry. WP "applets" for Java exist already, I hear; and
hypercaffeinated hackers are tapping out more substantial ones as
we speak. What's wide open now will soon be a crowded field.

Happy holidays, BTW!
