One of my profs has a batch of special purpose statistical programs from
20 or 30 years ago, preserved
as about ten boxes of 80-column punched cards. There's apparently
nothing quite them in commercially
available software and I stopped in recently at the university computing
center to see if there was a
card reader and some software for transcribing this stuff-- provoking
just about hysterical laughter.
I's not just word processers that get left behind by "progress."
