words interesting to listen to

Leslie Bialler:

>It will be interesting to listen to the words

-- I've nothing against Gates and I think some Microsoft products
(Cinemania, for example) are superb. But maybe I'm the sort of curmudgeon
you have in mind --

>if they are suddenly forced to purchase computers where one mfg.

>Internet makings.

If the third means the TCP/IP stack, then mine comes from the same company
as makes the OS. Otherwise, I voluntarily get things from a variety of
authors (or manufacturers). I don't even have a "software suite", and I
doubt that either my lack of this or the multiplicity of my sources is
freakish among people on this mailing list.

Oh, apropos of do-everything software, I note that Herb Tyson's latest book
(or one of them) is a monster about MS Outlook. Funny: the acquaintance of
mine who is most knowledgable about email clients -- and who, as Stephen
Carter will confirm, is no inveigher against Microsoft -- prefers Outlook
Express to Outlook, and The Bat! to both.
