Re: XyWrite 4.016 (or later) and high-ascii characters

Dear Rene,
Believe me. The Accent option maps the character to the high characters
above 255 (256 to 909) in version 4.017 and not to the characters 127 to
255, as formerly. For example: Choosing from accent option the [small acute
a] character, will actually place character 814 [small acute a] in the file.
The only way to enter a [Small acute a] (character 160) is by using
CTRL-ALT-160 on the numeric keypad in version 4.017. This is coded in the
EDITOR.EXE program and thus can not be changed, and the functions S1 to S7
are involved also.
Then I need to replace the following characters EVERY TIME in my files if I
would like to use XyWrite for DOS 4.017: ASCII 131, 133, 136, 137, 138, 139,
140, 141, 147, 149, 150, 151, 160, 161, 162, 163, 171 and 172 (171 and 172
appear badly codified even if I use CTRL-ALT combination, maybe because of
my country.sys). Too much, because my language, Galego, has a lot of
stressed characters and I am using XyWrite to write and Ventura to give the
final form to my documents.
The only comfortable solution would be a new version of the conversion
filters but TTG didn't uptade them.
Any suggestion?
Manuel (fenda@xxxxxxxx).
