Re: Memorizing/Returning to Cursor Position [was 'Too Many Page Elements']

Carl is right about a highly satisfactory bookmark solution being
available in U2. If you are one of those people who prefers your
bookmarks to be visible, you might want to try another simple
solution.

I picked an odd graphics character that never occurs in text
(ASCII 223 was my choice, but it doesn't matter) and put it on
F11 (i.e., that key inserts it at the cursor). CTRL-F11 searches
from the top of the file to find the first instance of it and
erases it, putting the cursor where it was. SHF-F11 searches from
the cursor position, finds the next instance,
and parks after it without erasing it. That way with SHF-F11 I
can easily find any one of multiple bookmarks, and can decide
whether to leave them in place or delete them manually. That is
(with the chosen key as "":

F11: 87= OR 87=r2,r2,r3,no

CTRL-F11: 87=dx,tf,bx,(,s,e, ,/,,/,),bd,do

SHF-F11: 87=bx,(,s,e, ,/,,/,)

Cheers,
