XyWin margin in draft view

A question for any regular XyWin users.  With XyWin in draft view, no 
left margin shows on screen -- on my screen anyway -- so that the text 
is hard against the LHS.  I do not find this easy to work with.  Is 
there any way to force a margin?  I have a margin set and it shows on 
the screen in page-line view.
In XY4 the margin shows in both draft and page-line view.  It only 
disappears in XY4 with expanded view.
