Re: vDosPlus: sometimes slow to load

Many thanks, Wengier. I don't think the trouble is in config.txt, autoexec.txt, or 4dos.ini, since those files haven't been modified since October 2018. Rebooting makes no difference. So I suspect there is inteference from some recent update to the Microsoft antivirus app Windows Defender Antivirus, which I'll try to beat into submission!

Hi James,
I think it is most likely caused by some recent change(s) in the system. You can try the following:
1. Try to run vDosPlus with the default
config.txt, autoexec.txt and 4dos.ini files. It
is possible that a recent change in one of the config files can cause issue(s).
2. Try to temporarily disable any anti-virus
utility and close other program(s) that may
interfere with vDosPlus. Some antivirus
utilities are known to cause delays of running other programs.
3. Restarting Windows may sometimes fix such
issues. If not, you can try reinstall vDosPlus, which may fix the problem too.

Hope this helps,
Wengier

But in the last couple of weeks, it has *often* been taking much longer to load--31 or 32 seconds (with no error message or sign of life until, suddenly, it's there). Any idea why this might be happening?
