I have used redlining often in XY3, XY4, and XW. It works exactly as
advertised, although it is conceivable that some hardware might flummox it
(I have no idea what the redline mode looks like on the B&W screen of a
laptop). It sounds as though you can solve your problem by telling your
co-author to put his or her computer away and finish up with the faithful
quill pen.
