Convert from XyWrite to Word for Windows

  To Martin Johnson:

  The latest version of Word for Word, version 7.2, can be purchased from
Adobe, which has purchased the program from Mastersoft. The program comes
on a CD, with filters for DOS, Win 3.1, Win 95, Mac, and Unix. In addition
to Word for Word, you get a compare program called "Docucomp," which is cool
too. On my Gateway Pentium 75 with 16 mg of ram, under Win95, it will
convert a feature laden, formatting code bloated Winword file to XyWrite 3+
(I recommend always converting to 3+ even if you're using version 4,
because, again, you will get fewer deltas that you probably won't need
anyhow) in less than 30 seconds. Indeed, it went through nine such files in
about a minute and a half. I would imagine the reverse trip would be even
faster, because XyWrites codes are more simple.  In addition, the program
has an "attach" feature. If you "attach" the critter to WinWord, that
program will be able to open a file and save it as a XyWrite file (or
anything else on its list) with a minimum of fuss.
