Ah yes, cats and computers. Cats seem to like them (a former colleague
swore her cat never sat on her lap except when she was working at her
PC), but they don't mix too well. Another colleague had a cat chew
through the cable of an external hard drive (Apple IIe or something of
that vintage), and a friend suddenly found his laptop giving him
numbers instead of letters after his kitten strolled across the
keyboard and invoked the Fn key that calls the numberpad overlay.
