Yeah, I was aware of that, but I'm not now using LPT2. Actually, since leaving
that message I reconfigured the modem to COM1, which as you know is
standardized on IRQ4. A couple of non-ProComm communications programs that I
use are too dumb to recognize a user-assigned IRQ for COM4 other the IRQ the
program assumes is in use; hence they didn't work. Besides, since COM1 was
available, it made sense to use it..... Strange things happen when you open up
a computer. When I put back the modem, the video card burned out -- totally.
The computer was as if dead. This was odd, since the modem was located 3 or 4
(empty) slots away from the video adapter. Soooo, this is my big chance to
speed up my video. Any suggestions? I'm running a 386/33 machine with 20 Meg
of RAM.
