File management

Nathan bemoaned XyWrite's lack of an ability to list files and
then do anything you want to them. Many years ago I wrote and marketed a bunch of
XYIII+ utilities that allowed you to call a directory, mark the
files you wanted to manipulate, and then copy, delete, open, or
move them. I also had a print utilty that allowed you to print
multiple copies of files selected from a directory. There were
several other things, including a database-like program that let
you search marked files in a directory and send paragraphs
containing the "hits" to a stand-alone file. I gave all of these
utilities
(and more) to TTG, in the hope of reaching a wider audience and
maybe bringing in some badly-needed revenue. So TTG now owns the
stuff; I think it's called XyPower Programs. III+ users who are
interested should call TTG, as I'm not in a position to sell it
anymore. I know (from experimenting) that the stuff definitely
will not work with XY4 or XyW as written. Much of the stuff I
put into XY4 in one form or another, but file management is still
not XY4's strong suit.
