Re: XYWRITE installation

Well, unfortunately, the disks TTG sent out for 4.17

Do you mean 4.017? Or do you mean XyWin?
When I first "upgraded" to Win 95, I simply copied my existing Xy4DOS
directory to a ZIP drive and thence to the hard drive of my new PC.

Right.
 Same
with XyWin (whose installation manual, significantly, mentions having to
"ignore" error messages if installing under Win 95). Yes, EDITOR.EXE and
the printer drivers are uncompressed, but the menus are useful when doing
something one doesn't do every day, and I certainly want the hyphenation
algorithms, which are the best I know of (even coming up with better
breaks than the parent Atex system could).
So, I'm confused: are you trying to work with Xy4DOS or XyWin? Because if
the former, just copying the directory seems like it would have to work. If
it's XyWin, there could indeed be problems.
