Thanks for everyone's helpful comments. The uncopyability of Windoesn't
is indeed infuriating. One thing I have read, and will be trying, is that
though if you XCOPY from a DOS prompt, long file names are lost, if you
XCOPY from Start-Run, they aren't. Another thing to remember is NOT to
copy the swap file. Will also look at the utilities recommended; first I
have to get a CD-burner for the new box.
