FFN does not seem to work

Dear Carl
Another question for you, I'm afraid.  I tried FFN in XW but it did not 
seem to work, so I tested it in XY4 on the same file, with the same 
result.  "FFN 1"+Helpkey found no footnotes although there were several 
to find.  By chance I have a very old version of VDOS with XY4 in my XP 
virtual machine, with version 120 of U2.  I transferred that to the 64 
bit Windows 7 machine and FFN worked perfectly in xy4.
