OK. Finally I have actually managed to get LEFT CMD/CapsLock to take on
the attributes of Dos/Win control. HOWEVER, a single key press yields *.
Somehow that is bound in there too. I got to this point, by the way, NOT
by trying, fruitlessly, to map left command to mod1 but my trying to map
it to CNTRL !! That was what got me here.
