Re: How to automate copying from clipboard to xywrite with ANSI to ASCII conversion

work in virtual environments.

I hope it will, and there is another twist in this: Virtual PC 2007 with DOS Additions running
DOS/Win 3.11 does not have access to a shared clipboard with the host system, only shared folders
are available. So one has to write to a file on the host system (XP in my case) and read the result
on the guest system (Win 3.11 dos box in my case).

>So VirtualBox will read the VPC images? Now if only I knew where to
find them - - I've been doing all of this in a highly non-technical
manner so far - - everything has just more or less worked, without me
having to have any knowledge of what I was doing.

Yes, VirtualBox supports VPC vhd files. They are in different places depending on your version of
VPC, use the operating system to look for "*.vhd" = virtual hard disk files. Make a
separate copy of the vhd file in other location for use with Virtual Box, as the virtualized
hardware is different in Virtual Box, and the Windows guest will try to adapt to a changed
environment when booted, and will make changes to the Windows guest files and environment. Virtual
Box and VPC CANNOT share the same vpc file!

Make a new VM in VirtualBox normally, select use existing VHD disk using the separate copy of the
file saved for Virtual Box. Ajust settings and let the operating system ajust itself. You might need
a setup CD for missing drivers.

networking?

I am afraid yes, but you will be able to use shared folders and clipboard integration and
drag-and-drop.
